JOB SUMMARY: The Customer Service Outreach Specialist (CSOS) is responsible for contacting dental offices to survey for information including but not limited to confirming appointment availability, appointment wait times, and after-hours coverage. This position is also responsible for contacting members who haven't been to the dentist for a specified period of time to assist with locating a dentist and access to care.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Contact and survey dental offices to obtain appointment availability, appointment wait times, and after-hour's coverage.

* Contact members who recently received treatment at a hospital emergency room to educate the member on more cost-effective dental care.

* Contact members via telephone who haven't been to the dentist to assure compliance with contracted appointment standards.

* When contractually obligated, contacts members via telephone to remind of upcoming dental appointments.

* Assist with administrative duties and departmental projects as assigned.

* Documents the system with results.

* Other duties as assigned.

* Cooperative, professional and effective interaction skills with co-workers, company staff and visitors

Required Experience

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

* High school diploma or GED.

* Proven professional verbal and written communication skills.

* Ability to efficiently operate computer and knowledge of Microsoft applications.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

* Requires the effective use of office equipment including, but not limited to, computers, and printers.

* Ability to sit at computer terminal for extended periods of time.

* Ability to communicate via telephone.

* Ability to communicate in an active office environment.

* The office environment is active with high voice levels and interruptions that may challenge hearing and concentration.
