Job Description ALIS Software LLC is currently seeking an Oracle DBA with 5 + years’ experience for a 6 month contract position (possible extension) with an established company conveniently located in the North Austin/Arboretum area.In this role you be responsible for the day-to-day administration and maintenance of Oracle Databases including monitoring, patching, upgrades and configuration.Responsibilities:· Demonstrates advanced troubleshooting and analytical skills through timely problem resolution· Defines database architectures to meet application performance and security requirements· Implements tuning improvements and advises developers on SQL tuning options· Provides technical guidance on integration, design and testing on production system databases· Provides technical guidance on Oracle licensing use and management· Defines and executes backup and disaster recovery strategies· Configures and monitors alerts· Demonstrates an advanced ability to write SQL scripts and procedures· Advises clients on best practices for database deployment and management· Collaborates with support teams on various IT projects· Contributes to improving and creating database application processes and proceduresQualifications:· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science preferred but related degree considered if paired with relevant technical skills· 4-5 years direct experience as an Oracle DBA· 3+ years in SQL and Oracle PL/SQL scripting and tuning· Proven experience with Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC)· Skilled at database design, installation, migration and conversion· Advanced analytical and troubleshooting skills· Broad knowledge of common applications and technologies· Proven understanding of SDLC· Self-starter, energetic and motivated contributor· Solid ability to lead the team as well as be an individual contributor
